You can now build your own audio collection out of your favorite online videos using 4K YouTube to MP3 to extract their audio stream and save them as MP3, Ogg, or M4A standalone audio files. This free tool allows you to download simultaneously as many audio streams as you wish, configure the audio codec and quality to meet your preferences, and listen to them using the program’s built-in player. Apart from YouTube, the program can download audio from Vimeo, SoundCloud, Flickr, and DailyMotion, too.
Wrapped up in a clean and clear interface, this download manager offers more features than meets the eye. In the surface, it looks like a minimalist app with not much to offer apart from its download and conversion capabilities, but its options dialog hides a set of features that add enormous value to this free tool. Thus, you can set the program to generate an M3U playlist with all your downloads, numerate the files in the playlist, and even skip any possible duplicates in it. It can search the Web for tags and add them to your extracted audio files, and integrate your downloads to your iTunes library when possible. Here you can also configure the final format of the files (MP3, Ogg, or M4A) and set the quality of the audio either adjusting their bit rate to 128, 256, or 320 Kbps or leaving the original audio parameters unchanged. All the choices you make here will be applied to all the files on the download/conversion list. On the connection settings side, you can set up a proxy server when the videos you wish to download are not available in your region (or for privacy purposes) and limit the download speed when necessary.
All the converted files will be stored in the folder of your choice. As downloading playlists, channels are also supported, the program can be set to create specific subfolders for them on your drive to help you keep your music collection organized.
I would love to see this excellent free tool offering to download the original video files as well, instead of just their audio stream. That would add lots of value to an already great software tool. Its batch capabilities, its flexible output settings, and all those hidden gems mentioned above make it an app worth installing and keeping on your desktop.
